Can I attend the Weekly Chat if I am not a student?Yes, of course! Everyone is welcome to attend the Weekly Chats. Invite your friends! Here is how to reserve your place in the weekly class: Non-students: Visit the Weekly Chat page and click the session you want to attend. Follow the steps to process your payment to ensure your reservation is complete. You will receive a confirmation email with the link to the meeting. Students: Reserve your place in the weekly chat by sending me a message in the Contact Form. Check the box "Weekly Chat." I will send you the link directly.

I can't attend a class, can I reschedule it?Things come up. Cold and flu season happens. Life is full of important meetings and unexpected events. It is always free to cancel or reschedule a class as long as notice is given more than 24 hours in advance. You can cancel or reschedule a class by call or text at +34684014725 or by email at info@convoclass.com. But what about those days where you might have to cancel at the last minute? We understand! For that reason, we have what is called a ´hall pass´, which allows you to late cancel or reschedule a class for free! Each month, you have an allotted number of hall passes depending plan or pack you have purchased: Subscriptions: Class Packs: *1x week plans include any length of plan, as long as the 1x week in the plan name. So, the monthly plan (1x week), 3-month plan (1x week), 6-month (1x week), and School Year (1x week) plans are all part of the 1x week category. The same logic applies to 2x week plans and 3x week plans. A class will be non-refundable if: No notice is given and the student is absent from the class. The student connects to the class, but is unable to be connected for the full 50 minutes. All hall passes corresponding to the student's plan have been used, and the student cancels or reschedules the class less than 24 hours before the class's start time. The student has not completed all the classes within the time period designated by their plan or extended the time period in order to use all the classes. How do I schedule a class?Congratulations! You have taken the first step and decided you want to study English. Now scheduling a class is the easy part. You have two options: 1. Send me a message with details about when you would like to have class. 2. Check my availability and reserve a class on the booking calendar.

What kind of software or device will I need for the classes?For many of my students, it is their first time having classes online. You won't have to purchase any new equipment or download any software to start classes with me. Here are the basic requirements to be able to connect to my classes. SOFTWARE - You won't need to download any special software to attend the classes. All classes will take place via Google Meet, so you only need an active Gmail account to access the link and attend the class. INTERNET SPEED - You will need a stable internet connection in order to have class without interruptions. You can test your internet speed at https://www.speedtest.net/. The recommended speed for video conferencing is a download speed of 1.5 to 2 Mbps and an upload speed of 2 Mbps. (keep in mind, the weekly chat has more participants and will require a greater internet speed for seamless participation.) PHONE, TABLET, OR COMPUTER - In the classes, I often use presentations, videos, and interactive activities, so I recommend using a tablet or computer rather than a mobile phone. This is not a requirement, you absolutely can attend class on your phone, however it may affect the productivity of the class. HEADPHONES - Also I highly recommend using headphones in the class, as it greatly helps with accurate pronunciation. CAMERA AND MICROPHONE - Typically, the camera and microphone that your device is equipped with have more than enough quality to have class, so you won't have to spend any extra money on a webcam or a microphone for the class. SETTINGS AND PERMISSIONS - usually, you will have to approve the use of the microphone and camera in whatever browser you are using (Chrome, Firefox, Edge, etc.). If you are connected to the class but the video or audio doesn't appear to be working, please check your settings and permissions in the browser settings, or contact me for a step-by-step guide to help access these settings. I was hoping for a teacher with a British accent...?I have been practicing my acting skills, but I haven't managed to perfect my accent to sound like I was born in Liverpool. While I cannot change my accent to sound like a native Brit, I do offer a variety of videos and listening exercises to encompass a wide range of accents, including those of non-native English speakers. This trains the student to listen for a wider range of possible sounds and augments their listening comprehension across the board. I mention any differences in vocabulary there might be between British and American English regarding each specific topic as well. Preparing for the Cambridge exam? I have many years of experience preparing students for the exam and my accent has not been a hindrance to the success of my students. On the contrary, it has been an added benefit for many of them. I assure you that with my classes you will be well prepared for each section of the exam, especially the listening section.

Can I cancel my subscription?Life is unpredictable. We make plans, but sometimes life has other plans for us. Don't worry! Regardless of the plan you purchased, there are options available to cancel your class subscription if you find you are unable to continue the classes. The monthly subscription plans (including 1x, 2x and 3x week) are able to be canceled at any time, free of charge. The cancelation will take effect starting the next purchase cycle, which occurs every month on the same date as the start date. You would be able to continue using the classes from that purchase cycle until the day before the account would have renewed. If you find you want to reactivate your subscription, you may purchase another one by contacting me directly or online through the website. EXAMPLE: Teresa started her monthly subscription on April 17th, and every month her account renews on the 17th. If she decides to cancel on August 29th, she will still have access to classes until the last day of the purchase cycle, ending on September 16th. She would not be charged on September 17th for the following month's classes, thus terminating her subscription. She would not have to pay any cancelation fee to cancel her subscription. The 3-month, 6-month, and school year plans are offered at a discounted rate and thus will incur a 50 € cancelation fee if the student wishes to cancel the subscription before the time period has elapsed. This cancelation fee is to cover any chargeback costs as well as compensate the teacher for such changes in scheduling. EXAMPLE: David bought a 6 month plan and started taking classes on September 20th. After 3 month of taking the classes, David became very busy at work and couldn't continue taking classes. He decided to cancel his plan on December 13th, a week before the 4th monthly payment. David would have to pay a 50€ cancelation fee, but would not have to continue making payments. Class packs, regardless of the number of classes purchased, are also offered at a discounted rate and thus cannot be fully reimbursed after the student has started the program by taking their very first class (trial class included). If for some reason you are not able to complete the classes within the allotted time period, contact me to extend the time period in which you can complete classes. There is no cancelation fee if you want to be reimbursed for unused classes, however you will only be reimbursed 13€ for each of the remaining classes. Additionally, the student will be responsible for paying any transaction fees or chargeback costs. EXAMPLE: Clara bought the pack of 50 classes for 820€. After 6 classes (one trial class + 5 classes from the pack), she decided to cancel the remaining 45 classes. Clara would be reimbursed 585€, minus the relevant transaction fees.
